Hiking on the Pinhoti Trail over Dugger Mountain – the second tallest mountain in Alabama – 9 miles to be completed in the dark:
hiking on the trail:
another river crossing (this one is less wet)
This hike had everything:
A water rescue, tight rope walking, class 4 rapids, a find the trail mystery, Pinhoti Precip, floating dogs, a no extra charge slip n slide along the narrow cliffs, a redneck parade float to trailhead, sink baths, girls in hot water, a celebrity Ihop waitress, topped off with a visit from the Leed’s police department.
left my place at 3pm to carpool to the meeting place, traveled to the trailhead with 3 awesome gals: 4:15 – 6:00pm; trekked the trail from 6:15pm – 11:30pm; then IHOP; back to the meeting place; then finally laid down my head at 3:15am
